Neurological Physiotherapy Services

As a team we specialise in the assessment and treatment of neurological conditions. A Neurological condition is defined as any condition that affects the brain, spinal cord or peripheral nerves, for example Stroke, Brain Injury, Multiple Sclerosis or Parkinson’s Disease (more information on these conditions is available on our useful resources section).

Our team all have experience within the NHS and have completed further training specific to the conditions listed above as part of our commitment to lifelong learning. We continue to explore the latest treatment methods and options to ensure you receive the highest standard of care when working towards your goals.

Living with or recovering from a Neurological condition is often a long process and there are rarely any quick fixes, part of our role is to support you and your family through your journey to better health. We take a positive and goal oriented approach to our sessions, and whilst exercise is a large part of what we do we are also on hand to give advice, support and sometimes just to listen.

What is Neuro Physiotherapy & How is it Different From Normal Physiotherapy?

Neurological Physiotherapy focuses on the treatment of conditions that affect the brain spinal cord or peripheral nerves. We have a deep understanding of how a neurological condition or injury may affect you physically, mentally and emotionally and our therapy consists of a variety of different approaches to help you improve or manage these challenges. Our team has completed lots of additional training in order to specialise in working with these conditions. We use a combination of exercise, rehabilitation technology, sport or physical activity, targeted goal setting, motivational interviewing and education to best support you.

What Will Happen at my Appointment?

The initial assessment will consist of an open discussion in which we endeavour to learn about you and how your condition affects you as well as taking some information about your medical history. We will also want to know what you’d like to achieve through neuro physiotherapy (no goal is too large), so do have a think about this before your assessment. By the end of your first session we aim to set a plan in place to aid your recovery.

How Long Will a Session Take?

We want you to get the most out of your sessions and will therefore recommend a duration of appointment which will best suit you. We currently run 45 or 60 minute appointments so whatever works for you best. Our assessments are thorough and will normally take around 1 hour, we will discuss frequency of visits with you and develop a therapy plan during the initial session.

Yes. We bring neuro physiotherapy to your doorstep across Surrey and Hampshire, making rehabilitation easier and more accessible for patients and their families.

Q&A

Conversational Q&A

Q: My mother has had a recent stroke – is neuro physiotherapy right for her?

Yes. Physiotherapy is one of the most effective ways to recover mobility and confidence after a stroke. We can help with walking, balance, and strength, as well as provide guidance for the family on supporting recovery at home.

Private sessions give you more time with your physiotherapist, flexible scheduling, and personalised treatment plans. Many of our patients choose private support to continue their progress after NHS therapy ends.
