Spinal Cord Injury
Spinal Cord Injury
There are many causes of spinal cord injury, from underlying medical conditions to traumatic injuries, one thing we do know is that two people with SCI are rarely the same. It can completely change your life moving forwards and having the right support around you to help you move forward is so important.
Â
It is likely you will spend a good amount of time in hospital after your injury, undergoing rehabilitation locally or at a specialist centre before returning home. Some people feel this is where rehabilitation ends, however we don’t think this is the case and urge you to seek physiotherapy input once home and settled. It may be we spend time helping you adapt to being at home and any changes that may have been made, or we might be spending time strengthening your muscles, putting together comprehensive exercise plans or managing symptoms such as pain and sensory impairment or additional medical issues.
Â
With extensive NHS, charitable and private contacts to draw upon, we can explore innovative approaches to your rehabilitation, long term support and care.
